Aunt Berthas Peach Blueberry Cobbler from Germany

Ingredients

  • 3/8 C sugar
  • 3/8 C brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 T cornstarch
  • 3/4 C water
  • 1 1/2 T lemon juice
  • 3 C sliced peaches
  • 1 1/2 C blueberries
  • 1 1/2 C flour
  • 3/4 C sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 C milk
  • 3/8 C soft butter
  • 3 T sugar
  • 3/8 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

Combine 3/8 C sugar, 3/8 C brown sugar, 1 1/2 T cornstarch, 3/4 C water in a saucepan.

Blend well and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until thick.

Add 1 1/2 T lemon juice, 3 C sliced peaches, and 1 1/2 C blueberries.

Pour into a casserole dish.

In a separate mixing bowl, stir together 1 1/2 C flour, 3/4 C sugar, 2 1/4 tsp. baking powder, and 3/4 tsp. salt.

Add 3/4 C milk and 3/8 C soft butter, and beat until smooth.

Spoon this mixture over the fruit in the casserole dish.

Sprinkle with a mixture of 3 T sugar and 3/8 tsp nutmeg.

Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
