Banana Sour Cream Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 very ripe bananas, mashed
  • 4 oz sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup and 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts (great!)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Grease a 7x3 inch loaf pan. In a small bowl, stir together 1 tbsp white sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Dust pan lightly with cinnamon and sugar mixture.

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and 3/4 c sugar. Mix in egg, mashed bananas, sour cream, vanilla and cinnamon. Mix in salt, baking soda and flour. Stir in nuts. Pour mixture into the pan.

  • Bake for 1 hour, until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
