Amazing Steak Kotleti

Ingredients

  • 1 lb premium ground beef (grass fed)
  • 1/4 fresh french baguette (or 1/2c plain bread crumbs for faster recipe)
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 tbsp Socks’ Love Steak Rub (or any other steak rub)
  • 1 tbsp Montreal Chicken seasoning
  • 1 1/2 tbsp butter
  • 3-4 tbsp corn / vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tbsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1 egg (optional - for better stickiness)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350F.

Cut the french baguette into slices and arrange on a baking sheet.

Place the pieces into the oven and bake for about 20 mins. Observe while baking - the goal is to produce completely dried bread pieces (for bread crumbs).

While the baguette is baking, slice onion into small pieces (as small as you can) and fry with butter on low/med heat in a small pan.

At the same time, combine both seasonings and salt in a small bowl.

When the baguette slices have dried, place them into a deep bowl and crush them until you get breadcrumbs.

Then wet the breadcrumbs just slightly with water so they are sticky but not mushy - or use an egg instead of water.

Combine all ingredients except for oil and mix well.

Make small batches of the mixture into patties and set aside on a plate.

Pour oil into a skillet (deeper is better so it doesn’t splatter) and heat to medium.

Place meat patties into the oil and sear on both side for about 1min.

Then turn the heat slightly down and continue cooking for about 5-8 mins or until done.

Serve while hot and enjoy. Goes well with garlic potatoes!
