Grandma Marilyn Ham Sauce Recipe

Grandma Marilyn’s Ham Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 Stick (1/2 cup) marg or butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup vinegar (or 1/4 c. vinegar & 1/4 c. real lemon)
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp dry mustard (Colemans from Norwich!)
  • 1/2 can Tomato Soup
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • Salt (if needed) and pepper

Instructions

  • Use whisk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.

  • This recipe freezes well, so if you double the recipe and use the entire can of soup, you can freeze some in small containers for later use.

  • Also, Mom says that for every lb of ham, you bake it 15 - 20 minutes at 325.

  • She puts 1/2- 1 cup of water in the pan (makes great soup broth) and covers the ham tightly with aluminum foil.

  • Ham is really easy to fix. Leftovers are great for soups, omelets, Hawaiian pizza, sandwiches, casseroles, etc. Good luck!
