Grandma Marilyn Ham Sauce Recipe
Grandma Marilyn’s Ham Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 Stick (1/2 cup) marg or butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vinegar (or 1/4 c. vinegar & 1/4 c. real lemon)
- 1/2 - 1 tsp dry mustard (Colemans from Norwich!)
- 1/2 can Tomato Soup
- 3 beaten eggs
- Salt (if needed) and pepper
Instructions
Use whisk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly.
This recipe freezes well, so if you double the recipe and use the entire can of soup, you can freeze some in small containers for later use.
Also, Mom says that for every lb of ham, you bake it 15 - 20 minutes at 325.
She puts 1/2- 1 cup of water in the pan (makes great soup broth) and covers the ham tightly with aluminum foil.
Ham is really easy to fix. Leftovers are great for soups, omelets, Hawaiian pizza, sandwiches, casseroles, etc. Good luck!
