Mushrooms (Fried) Recipe

Fried Onion and Mushroom Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 packs of mushrooms (10 oz. each)

  • 1 medium sized white onion

  • salt

  • pepper

  • 3-4 Tbs. olive oil

  • 1/2c sour cream (important!)

  • Zucchini chopped to the same size as mushrooms (optional)

Instructions

  • Cut up onion into thin semi-circular pieces (peel onion, cut in half, put each half face down and cut into semi-circles) then fry with olive oil in a frying pan on medium heat until golden brown.

  • In the meantime, wash mushrooms thoroughly and cut up into bite-size pieces. Once onions are ready, add mushrooms, salt and pepper to taste and cover frying pan with a lid.

  • If the lid has a tight seal, slide it off just a bit to create an opening.

  • The mushrooms should release a lot of water. Let the water evaporate from under the lid. Stir now and again to make sure that all mushrooms and onions cook evenly.

  • When the onions and mushrooms are almost done add zucchini (if desired)

  • Once all water is gone fry for 1-2 more mins. to give mushrooms slightly darker appearance. Finally add sour cream and fry for another 1-2 mins more.

  • Mix everything well and serve.

  • Best served with mashed potatoes and pork or chicken.
