Rice Pullao

Ingredients

  • 3T Butter
  • 1T Oil
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 6 peppercorns
  • 4 Cardamom pods
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 1/3 cups 2x-rinsed rice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup yellow raisins
  • slivered almonds
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/4 tsp tumeric

Instructions

Melt butter and oil on medium heat.

Lower heat and fry bay leaf, peppercorns, cardamom pods, and cloves for 30+ seconds.

Add rice, salt, yellow raisins, and slivered almonds, stir-fry for 1 minute.

Add water, bring to boil.

Add tumeric to color.

Cover and cook for 15-20 minutes on low, stirring occasionally.
