Garlic Peppers ( Samoylovs) Recipe

Baked Garlic Peppers

Ingredients

  • 6 large yellow and/or red peppers
  • 12 garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp. large-grain salt
  • 5 Tbsp. corn oil

Instructions

Preheat oven to 400F (350F if the peppers start burning). Wash peppers but do not cut. Place on a tray lined with aluminum foil.

Bake for 1h, turning every 15min so that each side is exposed. Once peppers are baked, use a knife to peel the skin off the peppers and a spoon to scoop out the seeds inside. Cut peppers into quarters.

Prepare the spice mix by mashing garlic cloves and mixing them with salt. Let the salt dissolve (not all of it will) then add corn oil.

Place cut pepper quarters flat into a container and cover with spice mix. Continue layering until done. Store in the fridge.
