Jeans White Chili Recipe
White Chili
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 Onion (medium size) chopped
- 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
- 15oz. can garbanzo beans
- Two 15oz. cans great northern beans
- 1 lb. chicken or turkey meat, cooked, chopped
- 14oz. can chicken broth (or water + boullion cube)
- 4oz. can green chilis
- 14oz. can corn, niblet style (optional)
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1 stp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. ground pepper
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (can substitute sour cream or half & half)
- tabasco sauce to taste
- shredded cheddar cheese for serving
Instructions
- Saute onion in a pan with olive oil until golden brown.
- Drain beans, carrots and corn but do not drain green chilis.
- Add everything except sour cream and heavy cream to a large pot and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 30 mins.
- Stir periodically or ingredients will stick to the bottom of the pan.
- Once done, stir in sour cream and heavy cream.
- Serve with shredded cheddar on top.
